Survey Alumni

The tracer study activity includes two activities, namely, a tracer study aimed at alumni and a tracer study for graduate users. Tracer studies for alumni are directed to determine the performance of graduates in the world of work. The performance studied includes the field of work involved, the benefits of knowledge gained on campus for the field of work, position positions in the workplace, career development of graduates in the workplace and inputs for improving the performance of study programs. Tracer study for graduate users is more focused on getting feedback from users of PSP Department graduates, related to the performance of alumni. Alumni’s performance in the world of work is related to integrity (ethics and morals), freedom of insight between disciplines, leadership, expertise based on fields of science (professionalism), English language skills, ability to use information technology, communication skills, teamwork and self-development. . Prior to 2016, tracer study activities were carried out manually by sending tracer study forms to alumni or alumni users. However, from 2016 until now, tracer studies have been conducted online.

Process and Mechanism

IPB regularly conducts tracer studies which are managed by the Directorate of Career Development and Alumni Relations (DPKHA). DPKHA is a directorate that carries out the task of developing and implementing graduate competency development programs and alumni relations in order to build strategic cooperation. DPKHA designs the tracer study tool in the form of a questionnaire and then sends the graduate questionnaire to the department/study program. Furthermore, PS TMPT can add the contents of the questionnaire according to the interests of the study program. Questionnaires were then sent to graduates and users of those graduates. Questionnaires that have been filled out by graduates or graduate users will be returned to PS TMPT for compilation. Tracer study activities are carried out routinely for PS TMPT graduates who have graduated and left the study program for one semester.

Follow-up of the results of the tracer study to be further evaluated by PS TMPT. The results of these activities have been used to improve the performance of the PSP Department, including the TMPT Study Program, including adding some material in the lectures according to the input from the results of the tracer study, improving facilities and infrastructure, and improving services to students.

The results of tracking graduate performance assessments by users will be taken into consideration for study programs, both undergraduate and graduate program in improving learning process and increasing the competence of graduates.

Graduate waiting period

Information on the average waiting time for graduates to get their first job is from the results of a tracer study of graduates conducted by the Department of PSP and DPKHA IPB. The calculation of the waiting time for graduates to get the first job is calculated from the date of issuance of the Graduate Certificate (SKL) until the alumni get a job for the first time (questionnaire attached). Based on information from DPKHA, the average waiting period for PSP graduates is one month.

Percentage of graduates working in the FRU field

Information on the percentage of graduates who work in fields according to their expertise is obtained from the results of a tracer study of graduates conducted by the Department of PSP and DPKHA IPB. Based on information from DPKHA, the percentage of jobs that match the study program is 93.8%.
