  • 7th National Seminar on Capture Fisheries, 2017

Department of Fisheries Resources Utilization, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, IPB University in collaboration with FK2PT (Forum Komunikasi Kemitraan Perikanan Tangkap) held the 7th National Seminar of Capture Fisheries and International Workshop of Sustainable Capture Fisheries. The theme at the seminar was “Sustainable and Equitable Development of Marine Fisheries”. On this occasion, the research about capture fisheries would be disseminated which is covering technology, management and socio-economics. There were 77 papers presented by marine fisheries researches from universities and research institutions, policy makers from the government, professional organizations related to capture fisheries, entrepreneurs and practitioners of capture fisheries, and students and other marine fisheries observers. Participants of the seminar came from 22 universities, and 3 research institutions. The speakers who would speak at the plenary session this time were the Head of Badan Riset dan Sumber Daya Manusia Kelautan dan Perikanan, Mr. M. Zulficar Mukhtar, ST, MSc, Dr. Triwiji Nurani (academics from the DFRU of IPB) and Ir. Budi Wibowo (business practitioner in capture fisheries and fish processing).

 

  • 5th National Seminar on Capture Fisheries, 2013

The National Seminar of Capture Fisheries 5 theme is “Application of Research Results to Encourage Industrialization of Indonesian Marine Fisheries”. This seminar was held for one-day, on Thursday, May 16th, 2013 at IPB International Convention Center Building, Bogor. The National Seminar of Capture Fisheries 5 was attended by 117 participants and 30 committees. Participants from various universities in Indonesia, research institutions, government agencies, private sector, entrepreneurs and students. The seminar was officially opened by the Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc. The opening seminar was delivered by the Director General of Capture Fisheries of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Ir. Gelwyn Yusuf, M.Sc. The Panel Discussion with the theme “Blue Economy-Based Marine Industry Development” presented the speaker Dr. Ir. Sunoto, MES (expert staff in Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries). The next paper was discussed by discussants representing academics: Dr. Ir. Budy Wiryawan, M.Sc (Head of Department of Fisheries Resource Utilization), government: Prof. Dr. Alex Retraubun (Deputy Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia), Ir. Bambang Suboko (Deputy Chair of FK2PT) and representatives of entrepreneurs: Ir. Slamet Hernowo, MBA (Executive Commissioner of PT Sinar Abadi Cemerlang).

 

  • 4th National Seminar on Capture Fisheries, 2011

The theme of the National Seminar of Capture Fisheries 5 is “Marine and Fisheries-Based Economic Development in the Minapolitan Region”. The scientific meeting was held for one-day, on October 18th, 2011 at IPB International Convention Center Building, Bogor. The number of participants in this seminar was 250 people, consisting of academics, researchers and students. Keynote speech as the opening ceremony of the seminar was delivered by the Deputy for Agriculture and Maritime Coordination, the Coordinator Ministry for Economic Affairs, Ir. Diah Maulida, MA. In this seminar session there are also featured four main speakers to discuss papers in accordance with the theme of seminar which are: (1) the Director General of Capture Fisheries of Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, (Dr. Ir. Dedi H Sutisna, MS) talk about Minapolitan Based on Capture Fisheries, (2) Director General of the P2HP Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (Dr. Ir Victor PH Nikijuluw, M.Sc ) talk about Processing and Marketing of Fisheries Products, (3) Director General of Argo Industry, Ministry of Industry, delivered by the Director of the Seafood Products and Fisheries Industry, (Ir. Faiz Achmad, MBA) talk about Maritime and Fisheries-Based Economic Development in the Minapolitan Region, (4) Deputy for Business Development and Restructuring, Ministry Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, delivered by the Assistant Deputy for Productivity and Quality Affairs (Ir. Emilia Suhaimi, MM) talk about Improvement of Community Welfare in the Minapolitan Region through Business Diversification.

 

  • 3rd National Seminar on Capture Fisheries, 2009

This seminar held by the Communication Forum for Capture Fisheries Partnerships and the DFRU of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science IPB University. This activity is called: “National Seminar of Capture Fisheries”. With the theme “Development and Problems of Capture Fisheries in Indonesia: Challenges and Solutions”. This activity held for 2 days, on November 9-10th 2009, at IPB International Convention Center Building, Bogor. This activity is expected to be attended by 200 participants who are representatives of capture fisheries shareholders, that are academic participants (including foreign scientists), entrepreneurs and fishermen, and decision makers in the Republic of Indonesia.
